$201 million property in China jawdropping
Taohuayuan is mainland China’s most expensive property, sitting pretty inside the middle of Suzbou’s Dushu Lake. It’s currently listed for sale at a whopping $201 million (one billion Chinese Yuan). The property took three years to build and it’s no surprise why; as it boasts over 32 bedrooms and 32 bathrooms.

The name Taohuayuan converts to ‘utopia’ or ‘peach blossom land’ in English. Our guess is that the buyer would be foolish not to turn it into a resort and live an incredibly lavish life.

The property is it’s own world and guests would never have to leave. Developers could always build a shopping centre within it too. The secluded ‘house’ is located on a private island ; inside mainland China. Is your head already spinning? Our’s sure are!

It’s like an image out of this world with mist floating over water and rock gardens, luxurious interiors and dramatic views over the lake. All 32 bedrooms are south facing and there’s also a pond, swimming pool, wine cellar and spectacular gardens.

The oriental style won’t attract all buyers but it closely follows the traditional Chinese styled home with upturned roofs and a courtyard-style layout.

Jim Hao vice chairman of Beijing Sotheby’s International Realty said it’s the highest luxury listing. Our jaws already dropped on the ground when we saw it’s selling price. To put it in perspective, the asking price of $200 million is more than twice the price of La Mer, Australia’s most expensive sale.  The Chateau Louis XIV outside Paris still takes the cake being sold for over a whopping $A419 million.
