Just when Apple thought they were recovering from their recent iPhone and iOS software issues, the company has again copped backlash following the announcement that new AirPods will not be released this month, as promised.
Apple said the updated, cordless earPods would have been available from late October, but have since told TechCrunch they need “a little more time” to work on the product while getting everything in order.
“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” the tech giant explained.

Apple refused to reveal the underlying issues, and gave no indications whether hardware and software updates were to blame.
Apple consumers expected the product to go on sale as early as tomorrow, given the timing of tomorrow’s Mac-related press event. Some customers have already experienced issues with sold out and faulty iPhone 7s this year, and others are still unhappy with the updated earbuds. However, early reviews for the product have generally been well received.
There’s no indication as to how long the delay will be, but tech experts have said they will be surprised if they don’t go on sale by mid November.
