Nestlé Australia today announced the immediate recall of the PURINA cat collars with STAR WARS designs due to the possibility of injury to cats.
The collars are being recalled because the cat may catch its claws on the edge of the collar, causing it to fray. This frayed collar may then cause injury to the cat.
The cat collars can be identified by the distinctive Star Wars fabric sewn onto the black collar. The collar comes in two Star Wars designs, both of which have a bell and a quick release clasp.
The cat collars were sold in Woolworths, Big W and pet speciality stores from late 2019.
We apologise for the inconvenience this recall causes to cat owners, but encourage you to keep your cat safe by removing this collar immediately, and returning it to store for a full refund.
What should you do if you have a STAR WARS cat collar?
If you have a STAR WARS cat collar, please return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Are other PURINA products with STAR WARS designs affected?
No. This recall only affects Nestlé Purina PetCare’s cat collars with the STAR WARS design. Other Nestlé Purina PetCare products featuring STAR WARS designs are not affected.
