One man has died and another driver was injured in a freak vehicle crash on General Holmes Drive in the Sydney Airport Tunnel.

Two cars and a truck smashed into another at 7am near Mascot’s M5. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and a woman has been rushed to hospital for injuries. A third person has been taken for mandatory testing.
Ambulances treated the truck driver at the scene and the driver has been rushed to St George Hospital respecting minor injuries.
Sydney traffic has since then mushroomed in both directions towards the Sydney Airport Tunnels.
“Traffic is heavy, use an alternative route and allow extra travel time,” wrote Live Traffic Sydney.
Police have established a crime scene, and the crash investigation unit is further investigating the scene.
Sydney commuters are being alerted of heavy delays on their morning route. Two of the three driving lanes to the Airport Tunnel have been suspended and one of the five northbound lanes has been shut.
