According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the rate of job vacancies is at the highest point it has been in over three years.
The total number of job vacancies recorded by the ABS in February 2016 was 172 900. This number is a 3.1% increase in vacancies from November 2015.
The number of job vacancies in the private sector rose by 2.7% in February 2016 when compared with statistics from November 2015. The number of vacant jobs in the private sector in was 157 000. The number of job vacancies in the public sector in February 2016 was 15 900, this is a 6.8% increase in job vacancies from November 2015.
