This week sportswear giant Nike announced a new collaboration with tennis great Serena Williams, and American fashion designer Virgil Abloh. The ‘Queen Collection’ features a series of new athletic gear, including dresses, a jacket, shoes, and a bag.
This is not the first time the no. 26 world ranked tennis player has collaborated with Nike. Williams released clothing with the brand in 2016, kickstarting the “athleisure” trend. She has been turning heads with her sportswear, namely for her unique and eccentric clothing choices on and off the court.
The tennis champion took to Instagram to show a sneak peak of the new collection. Abloh also shared images of Williams in the new clothing line, describing the line as “blurring the lines of sport and fashion on an off the court specifically for Serena Williams” in a post on Instagram.

Abloh is the designer for brand “Off White”, and is excited about this new collection with Nike.
“What I love about tennis is the gracefulness,” Abloh said in an official statement. “It’s an aggressive and powerful game, but it takes touch and finesse.”
Williams will debut the new collection at the US Open, starting on the 27th of August.
